Google Earth Plate Tectonics Server

Plate Tectonics is a geological theory that explains the movement of the continental land masses since their formation to modern times. The theory explains a range of observations, including the similarity of plants, geological formations and fossils on different continents.

Screen shot of the Google Earth Plate Tectonics Server This reconstruction of the Plate Tectonics theory covers the period from 600 Million Years Ago to today and is based on the Rectangular Global Maps from the site Global Paleogeographic Views of Earth History - Late Precambrian to Recent produced by Dr. Ron Blakey at Northern Arizona University [Images used with permission].

This application has been rewritten to use Google Earth (version 4) time sequences.
